Rescue City is a Brooklyn-based dog rescue committed to saving lives through education, support, and service. Our loving, dedicated foster network helps us provide temporary, safe homes for these dogs while we find matches that result in permanent adoption placement. We pride ourselves on offering exceptional education and support throughout the process, ensuring a wonderful experience for both the dog and their human.

”The communication from the RC team is great, they are all very quick to reply and answer all questions and concerns.RC covers medical costs during the fostering period & provides some supplies. Fostering is such a rewarding experience. The RC team prioritizes the wellbeing of the dogs they place. If you're contemplating adopting but aren't sure, I highly recommend the foster-to-adopt program! Caillou, an exceptional 2 year old mixed-breed pup with energy for days and all the charm to sweep you off your feet. He is searching for an active, patient home who is eager to continue his training and has a sense of humor.

- Incredibly athletic – no hike is to too steep or too long for this guy
When it comes to new environments, Caillou can be anxious and it can take him time to settle, but when he finally does, it’s very endearing to watch his silly and fun personality emerge. Caillou loves running around and playing with other dogs outside, but cannot live in a home with other dogs or cats.
We know that there’s a family or human out there experienced with smart, high-energy pups like Caillou and who can give him the structure, routine, and love he needs to succeed. You’ll be rewarded with all his love, kisses, and quirks in return. Caillou has been in foster care since he was just a puppy. Although he is currently fostered in the city, he would thrive in a suburban or rural environment with room to run. Caillou’s foster generously did a DNA test for him — we learned he is a Pit x Russell Terrier Mutt with a sprinkling of German Shepherd, French Bulldog, Basset Hound, and Cocker Spaniel! His adoption fee is waived in hopes of expanding his chance to find the perfect home for him!
